A Romance Novel

Over 100 letters were sent to random women that lived at the chosen addresses. Each letter, signed Gabriel by hand, contains one of the quotes cut out from the respective book. The addresses of those who received the cut-out texts are written next to the holes in the novel – no content is provided to the spectator, only the information about the addressee to whom the thought or declaration of love was sent.

The work by title A Romance Novel – Love in the Time of Cholera by the author Gabriel García Márquez – is an attempt of transfer from reading to act out the content which is so to speak displaced from intimate and closed circle of the reader and brought into effect or rather moved through the use of letters into the sphere of everyday life.
